Many people have the concept of the mind = inner self
Actually, the consciousness is the real you.
The mind is just a tool.
Both are not the same.
The mind is a useful tool. It can analyze and interpret things when we need it.
The consciousness is the one that observes and make choices.
It chooses whether to accept things suggested by the mind or emotion.
However,
The mind is a good servant, but a bad master.
Many people let their inner chatter (mind) lead their lives,
Without realising that inner chatter is not the one that makes choices
It is your consciousness that is the master of your life.
You can choose to accept or ignore your mind or your emotion.
You have the will of making choices.
People who meditate know that when they observe with their consciousness,
the mind (inner chatter) arises and gives a lot of distraction (suggestion)
It is for us to build our will power
so that our consciousness can overcome the influence of the mind and control it.
Use your mind well.
If you treat your mind well, it will serve you well.
Learn to control your mind with your consciousness (will).
Use it only you need to.
Your consciousness alone can observe things objectively.
It is beneficial if you are able to control your mind well,
instead of being controlled by your own inner chatter (mind).
The person who can control his own mind, desire and emotion
is the person who conquers (her)his “inner” self
(S)He is a wise chooser and controller of (her)his own life.

… silence … i just do anything that first got into my mind … that’ll do.

In physical life, your conscious mind is largely dependent upon the workings of your physical brain. The brain to some extent keeps the mind to a three dimensional focus. It orients you toward the environment in which you must operate, and it is because of the mind’s allegiance with the temporal brain that you perceive, for example, time as a series of moments.
The brain channels the information that the mind receives to your physical structure (the body) and because of this, physically speaking and in life as you think of it, the mind is to a large extent dependent on the brain’s growth and activity.
Your world is formed out of the vast unpredictability of consciousness. From it you form your own ideas of significance and of yourself. You must stop thinking in terms of ordinary progression. It is bad enough when you worry about keeping up with the Joneses. It is something else, however, when you start worrying about which kind of self [or consciousness] is superior to another kind.
If you look at the world around you and are amazed at its richness and variety. Do you think that the inner world is not as rich, even richer, and more valid? Do you think there is but one kind of consciousness?

It is simply BEING.
Yes, your mind acts quite different in ALPHA brainstate and DEEP theta brainstate but the consciousness is the same.
it is the your consciousness that causes the reality shift, where you have the choice of being in certain reality of possibilities.
From my realization,
the consciousness is not just within the physical body, unlike the mind.
It is something timeless and spaceless perceiving through my “small” physical body.
Your consciousnes already have all. It is the illusion that makes the inner and outer world looks different. You just need to choose to experience what you desire.
